    Description: This study examines disparities in apprenticeship certification and employment income among childhood immigrants (individuals who arrive in Canada before age 18) and Canadian-born apprentices by sex. Specifically, two research questions are addressed: (1) whether the likelihood of obtaining certification varies between childhood immigrant and Canadian-born apprentices by sex, before and after accounting for sociodemographic, program and employment characteristics; and (2) whether annual earnings (log) among certified journeypersons vary by childhood immigrant status and sex before, at, and after certification, and whether these differences persist after accounting for other factors.

    Description: Following the development of the not in employment, education or training, excluding short transitions (NEETEST) indicator, this study examines the socioeconomic determinants of NEETEST, as well as its long-term educational and labour market implications. Youth aged 20 to 29 years are classified as NEETEST or not in 2017 and are followed for five years thereafter (until 2022) to track their postsecondary enrolment, employment, self-employment and total earnings.

The analysis focused on children aged 1 to 5 years living in the provinces and explored differences among low-income, single-parent, racialized, Indigenous, rural and same-gender-parent families. Descriptive analyses and logistic regression models were used to assess child care participation, experiences finding care and associated consequences, while adjusting for sociodemographic factors.

    Description: Residential mobility influences cumulative environmental exposures over the life course, yet few national datasets capture these dynamics across multiple exposure domains. This paper describes the development of the Residential Mobility Exposome File (ReMEF), which integrates individual-level residential histories from linked census and administrative data with annually resolved spatial measures of ambient air pollution, built and green environment characteristics, and ambient temperature. The cohort profile is also described. The ReMEF framework offers a way to compare environmental exposure, classified into low, medium, or high, by population group and other socioeconomic characteristics.
