Description: The Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) Data Portal is a collaboration between Statistics Canada and Natural Resources Canada, which administers the ESTMA. The ESTMA helps the Government of Canada deter corruption in the extractive sector by requiring extractive entities that are active in Canada to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, certain types of payments made to governments in Canada and abroad. The goal of the data portal is to increase the accessibility and utility of the payment information collected under the ESTMA by bringing together all available ESTMA data in one online location, and further enriching the payment data with analytical functions that help users to leverage the complete ESTMA dataset. The database has also been designed with mobility in mind to ensure that users and stakeholders have mobile access to ESTMA data.

Description: This survey was designed to collect details on topics such as: i) the extent to which graduates of postsecondary programs have been successful in obtaining employment since graduation; ii) the relationship between the graduates' program of study and the employment subsequently obtained; iii) the type of employment obtained and qualification requirements; iv) sources of funding for postsecondary education; and v) government-sponsored student loans and other sources of student debt. Geographic proximity to service centres and population centres is an important determinant of socio-economic and health outcomes. Consequently, it is a relevant dimension in the analysis and delivery of policies and programs.

To measure this dimension, Statistics Canada developed an Index of Remoteness of communities. For each populated community (census subdivision), the index is determined by its distance to all the population centres defined by Statistics Canada in a given travel radius, as well as their population size.

Facilities are classified into one of three types: ambulatory health care services, hospitals, and nursing and residential care facilities. The ODHF is based on data from authoritative sources that include among them all levels of government and public health and professional healthcare bodies. The ODHF is released as open data under the Open Government License - Canada and provided as a zipped comma-separated values (.csv) file.

Description: This interactive web mapping application produces timely, quantitative and objective information on crop and pasture conditions at the census agricultural region, census division, census consolidated subdivision and township levels (counties in the United States). It includes colour images and maps, graphs and tables. It is updated on a weekly basis during the growing season and holds historical data since 1987 (1-km resolution version) or 2000 (250-metre resolution version).

This product uses low-resolution, digital satellite data to monitor the changing vegetation conditions over the whole agriculture area of Canada and the northern half of the United States.

This product describes the similarities and differences between two sets of United Nations (UN) guidelines for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: the United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Statistics Canada's Greenhouse Gas Account is compiled based on the SEEA guidelines, while the National GHG Inventory is prepared by Environment and Climate Change Canada in accordance with the UNFCCC.

Description: This public use microdata file (PUMF) provides researchers access to data on the distribution of SARS-CoV-2 lineages detected in the Canadian provinces between May and September 2022. Samples were collected as part of the Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey (CCAHS), Cycle 2. The PUMF file consists of a subset of participants of the CCAHS who submitted a positive PCR saliva sample over the course of the collection of the survey. The PUMF contains select demographic information including sex at birth, age group, province and the week of collection. The file also contains SARS-CoV-2 whole genome sequences and its associated data.

Description: This public use microdata file (PUMF) contains non-aggregated data for a wide variety of variables collected from the Survey on Before and After School Care in Canada (SBASCC).

SBASCC addresses child care in Canada for children who are attending school (i.e., ages 4 to 12). The survey will ask about the different types of learning and child care arrangements used by families, difficulties some families may face when looking for care, as well as reasons for not using child care.

Description: The Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) Cycle 1 oral health public use microdata file (PUMF) is now available. The PUMF consists of 307 variables from the oral health examination completed as part the CHMS, a subset of variables present or recoded from the master file. Data was collected from 2007 to 2009 from approximately 6,000 people in 15 communities randomly selected across Canada and represents 97% of the Canadian population aged 6 to 79 years old. The Oral Health module of the CHMS is a result of a collaborative partnership between three federal departments: Statistics Canada, Health Canada and the Department of National Defence.

This public use microdata file (PUMF) contains data for a wide variety of variables collected from the Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey (CCAHS). The CCAHS collected information on the presence of chronic conditions, self-reported COVID-19 status, testing history, risk for infection, health behaviours, vaccination status and intentions to get vaccinated. COVID-19 antibody seroprevalence laboratory data, and select demographic information are also available. Survey data were collected between November 2020 and April 2021, with the vast majority of collection occurring in January and February 2021.

The survey, which addresses child care in Canada for children younger than 6 years old, asks about the different types of early learning and child care arrangements that families use, difficulties some families may face when looking for care, as well as reasons for not using child care. The survey will also cover the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on child care.

The Public-Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the Survey of Household Spending (SHS) provides information on household expenditures as well as selected information on dwelling characteristics and household equipment. The production of this file includes many safeguards to prevent the identification of any one person or household.

PUMFs were produced on an annual basis for SHS 1997 to 2009, before a redesigned survey was introduced with the 2010 reference year. The SHS 2017 PUMF is the first SHS PUMF based on data collected after the 2010 survey redesign.

Due to changes to data collection, processing and estimation methods introduced with the 2010 redesign, users are advised not to compare data from SHS 1997 to 2009 with data from any subsequent years, unless otherwise noted.

The information collected will be used to better understand the various methods people use to resolve problems - not just formal systems such as courts and tribunals, but also informal channels such as self-help strategies.

Description: The Census of Environment Geospatial Explorer is web GIS application that lets users visualize thematic maps of Statistics Canada data tables published in the context of the Census of Environment. The application reads statistical data from the Common Output Data Repository (CODR) using Statistics Canada Web Data Services (WDS) and joins them with geospatial data to build and display thematic maps to the user.

Description: This interactive data visualization dashboard provides an overview of correctional services programs in Canada. The dashboard features statistics on average daily counts, community and custodial admissions and the characteristics of adults and youth in the correctional system (such as age, sex and Aboriginal identity). A map is available for users to view data by province, territory or federal programs.

Description: This dashboard highlights the latest data and the data over time back to 1993 for the Monthly Wholesale Trade Survey (MWTS). The MWTS provides information on the performance of the wholesale trade sector and is an important indicator of the health of the Canadian economy, when combined with other statistics.

With this tool, users can explore current and historical trends of sales and inventories for all subsectors. As for sales, users can also examine the data for provinces and territories. Key indicators such as sales and inventories, monthly changes and inventories-to-sales ratios are presented in interactive charts. The ten highest sales by industry for the current month, as well as the chained dollar versus current dollar sales comparison are also illustrated.

The interactive tool also allows users to rank subsectors, either nationally or provincially, based on their total of monthly sales. Quality indicators are accompanied for the data as well.

Description: This interactive data visualization dashboard provides an overview of police-reported hate crime in Canada. The dashboard features statistics on the rate and number of hate crimes on an annual basis starting in 2014. Information is available at different levels of geography including by Canada, province and territory and census metropolitan area. Also included are findings related to the type and motivation of hate crimes, as well as the most serious violations reported in each incident.

With its interactive map and charts it allows the user to compare and analyze international trade of environmental and clean technology products per trading partner. The data presented cover the period from 1971 to the most recent year. The dashboard shows the proportion of the total population by broad age group, the proportion of centenarians, the distribution of the population by age and gender, the average age, the number of people aged 15 to 64 per person aged 65 years and older and the gender ratio by age group. Data can be visualized for Canada or for a selected province or territory.

The dashboard shows the levels of in-migrants, out-migrants and net interprovincial migration. It also presents trends in the form of rates to facilitate comparisons between provinces and territories and between age groups. The data presented covers the period from 1971/1972 to the most recent period.

Description: The Arts and Culture Data Viewer is an interactive data visualization tool. It allows users to easily break down Statistics Canada arts and culture economic data by geographic area, as well as data on participation in cultural activities by the demographic characteristics of participants. Economic data includes data on output, gross domestic product, employment and trade.
