To measure this dimension, Statistics Canada developed an Index of Remoteness of communities. For each populated community (census subdivision), the index is determined by its distance to all the population centres defined by Statistics Canada in a given travel radius, as well as their population size.

Description: This interactive web mapping application produces timely, quantitative and objective information on crop and pasture conditions at the census agricultural region, census division, census consolidated subdivision and township levels (counties in the United States). This product describes the similarities and differences between two sets of United Nations (UN) guidelines for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: the United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Canadian Housing Statistics Program (CHSP) produces a comprehensive repository of statistics that covers numerous aspects of the housing sector, including property and owner characteristics. As the amount of data produced increases, the CHSP has introduced thematic maps to help people, business owners, academics, and management at all levels, to understand key information derived from the data by representing it visually at the geographical level. Thematic maps can be used quickly to communicate a message, to simplify the presentation of large amounts of data, to see data patterns and relationships and to monitor changes in variables over time.

CSELCC addresses child care in Canada for children younger than 6 years old and asks about the different types of child care arrangements that families use, the difficulties some families may face when looking for care, as well as reasons for not using child care. The survey also collects information on parents' labour market participation to better understand the interaction between work and the use of child care arrangements.

This dashboard presents selected health indicators for the Canadian population living in the ten provinces related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes estimates of the population aged 12 and older, by region and province, age group and gender. The indicators of health included show how Canadians rate their current mental health compared to before the pandemic - worse, the same, or better. It also shows what percentage of Canadians reported taking various precautions to protect against COVID-19, what percentage indicated having received a test for COVID, as well as the rate of those somewhat or very likely to get a vaccine. The data for this dashboard are based on the Canadian Community Health Survey, a annual population health survey that was adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic to produce more timely estimates with new content related to the evolving situation. Estimates in this dashboard are presented beginning from September 2020 and will be updated with each completed collection period available from the survey.
