Description: The infrastructure economic accounts represents a set of statistical statements that record the economic, social and environmental impacts related to the production and use of infrastructure in Canada and each province and territory. The infrastructure economic accounts are organized using a statistical framework that outlines the concepts, classification systems and methods required to construct the accounts. This statistical framework is consistent with the Canadian system of national accounts, Canadian government finance statistics and Canada's balance of payments. This consistency permits users to analyze the infrastructure related statistical statements in the context of economy wide measures such as investment, gross domestic product (GDP), national income and wealth.

Description: The need for alternative data sources is of growing importance for both supplementing Statistics Canada's data holdings and for nowcasting economic activity. In response to this need, Statistics Canada initiated the development of a Real-time Local Business Conditions Index (RT-LBCI). The index brings together data from a few different sources, including Google's Places API (containing data on temporary and permanent businesses closures), TomTom Real-time traffic API (road traffic data), as well as information from Statistics Canada data holdings (monthly retail and wholesale, Business Register, etc.). Description: This interactive web mapping application produces timely, quantitative and objective information on crop and pasture conditions at the census agricultural region, census division, census consolidated subdivision and township levels (counties in the United States). It is updated on a weekly basis during the growing season and holds historical data since 1987 (1-km resolution version) or 2000 (250-metre resolution version).

This product uses low-resolution, digital satellite data to monitor the changing vegetation conditions over the whole agriculture area of Canada and the northern half of the United States.

This compendium provides data from the new Workplace and Employee Survey (WES) conducted by Statistics Canada with the support of Human Resources Development Canada. The survey consists of two components: (1) a workplace survey on the adoption of technologies, organizational change, training and other human resource practices, business strategies, and labour turnover in workplaces; and (2) a survey of employees within these same workplaces covering wages, hours of work, job type, human capital, use of technologies and training. The result is a rich new source of linked information on workplaces and their employees.

The data bank permits users (including government departments and agencies-specifically the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission or CRTC, associations, academics and market researchers) to analyse the use of radio by Canadians. The information is used for the programming, planning and monitoring of policies, as well as for market research.

BBM Canada conducts sample surveys of individuals in Canada, collecting data on their radio listening. All Canadians aged 12 and above, except those residing in the Yukon and Northwest Territories and those residing in institutions or on Indian Reserves, are part of the universe for the BBM survey. The basic data on listening were acquired from BBM Canada and reflect the demographic characteristics of survey respondents. The information on the formats of specific radio stations is provided by the CRTC.

Using 2006 Census data, this profile provides a statistical overview of the income and earnings, and housing and shelter costs variables, as well as all other variables that have already been released, for dissolved census subdivisions.

In the census product line, groups of variables, such as this one, are referred to as release components of profiles. These are made available with the major releases of variables of the census cycle, starting with age and sex. Together, they will form a complete cumulative profile of all the variables for each level of geography, plus one cumulative profile for the dissolved census subdivisions.

Starting with the age and sex major day of release, and on major days of release thereafter, profile component data will be available for particular topics at the Canada, province and territory, census division and census subdivision levels, at the census metropolitan area, census agglomeration and census tract levels, and at the federal electoral district (based on the 2003 Representation Order) level. Profile component data for all other standard areas, including dissemination areas, urban areas, designated places and forward sortation areas, will be available approximately four weeks after the major days of release.
