Description: The Public Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the Canadian Tobacco and Nicotine Survey (CTNS) provides information to fill important data gaps related to vaping, cannabis, and tobacco usage. The data will inform policy and provide a current snapshot of use across Canada.

Until 2017, Statistics Canada conducted the Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CTADS), which collected data on tobacco as well as alcohol and drug use in Canada. In 2019, the Canadian Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CADS) was conducted to collect data on alcohol and drug use independently from the Canadian Tobacco and Nicotine Survey (CTNS) which was conducted to primarily collect data on tobacco and nicotine.

This product includes many safeguards to prevent the identification of any one person or household. The CTNS PUMF is for users who prefer to do their own analysis by focusing on specific sub-groups in the population or by cross-classifying variables.

As the new survey has two distinct components - household and individual - with revised and streamlined questions, it is not appropriate to directly compare results from these two surveys in most cases.

The Household Component of the CIUS includes a short series of questions on the type of Internet connections and devices used by households to access the Internet from home, as well as availability of high speed service, and a standard module on household income. The questions may be answered by any knowledgeable member of the household. This content is supplemented by selected household characteristics and some geographic detail (i.e. province and region).

It permits a comparison of tourism with other industries within a province or territory since the concepts and methods used are based on the framework of the Canadian System of National Accounts.

Description: The Canadian Statistical Geospatial Explorer empowers users to discover geo enabled data holdings of Statistics Canada at various levels of geography including at the neighbourhood level. Users are able to visualize, thematically map, spatially explore and analyze, export and consume data in various formats. Users can also view the data superimposed on satellite imagery, topographic and street layers.

Description: The Census of Agriculture Mapping Tool is a user-friendly interactive web mapping application that allows for a quick visualization of the spatial distribution of Census of Agriculture data, for any census year since 2016. The Census Program Data Viewer (CPDV) is a new advanced web-based data visualization tool that will make statistical information more interpretable by presenting key indicators in a statistical dashboard. The CPDV makes it easy to find many places in Canada, see them on a map, and get basic geographic and sociodemographic data for those places. To find a specific place of interest, you can click and zoom in on a map of Canada or you can search by place name or postal code. The CPDV displays the appropriate thematic map showing boundaries and other features. The CPDV will also enable users to easily compare indicator values for different places and help identify relationships between indicators.
