Monthly Civil Aviation Statistics
This dashboard displays the main financial and operational data from the Canadian Level I air carriers, for the last five years. It allows users to compare operating statistics (passengers, passenger-kilometres, available seat-kilometres, load factor, hours flown, and turbo fuel consumed) and financial statistics (total operating revenues) over time.

Notes
As of January 2015, Canadian Level I air carriers include Air Canada (including Air Canada Rouge), Air Transat, Jazz, Porter, Sunwing and WestJet (including Swoop, WestJet Encore and WestJet Link). From January 2020 until March 2021, inclusive, Level I carriers also include Sky Regional Airlines. As of January 2024, Level I carriers also include Flair Airlines.
Definitions
- Available seat-kilometres
- Represents the aircraft kilometres flown on each flight stage multiplied by the number of seats available for use on that stage. This represents the total passenger carrying capacity offered.
- Enplaned passengers
- Refers to revenue passengers who board aircraft and surrender one or more flight coupons or other documents good for transportation over the itinerary specified in these coupons or documents.
- Passenger-kilometres
- Represents the carriage of one revenue passenger on each flight stage multiplied by the number of kilometres flown on that stage. Passenger-kilometres are obtained by totaling the number of kilometres flown by all passengers.

Use this interactive tool to view data from the Monthly Civil Aviation Statistics release, for the last five years.
The dashboard contains five pages, with information on passengers and load factor, passenger-kilometres and available seat-kilometres, hours flown, turbo fuel consumed and total operating revenues.
With your cursor, hover over an element to see the corresponding data.
Keyboard shortcuts and screen reader tips
Keyboard shortcuts and screen reader tips are available by entering the visual and pressing CTRL + Enter.
While in the visual, pressing SHIFT + "?" will open the keyboard shortcuts.
When focus is on a visual, the data table can be displayed by pressing ALT + SHIFT + F11.
