This product describes the similarities and differences between two sets of United Nations (UN) guidelines for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: the United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Canadian Housing Statistics Program (CHSP) produces a comprehensive repository of statistics that covers numerous aspects of the housing sector, including property and owner characteristics. As the amount of data produced increases, the CHSP has introduced thematic maps to help people, business owners, academics, and management at all levels, to understand key information derived from the data by representing it visually at the geographical level. Thematic maps can be used quickly to communicate a message, to simplify the presentation of large amounts of data, to see data patterns and relationships and to monitor changes in variables over time.

Description: This public use microdata file (PUMF) contains non-aggregated data for a wide variety of variables collected from the Survey on Before and After School Care in Canada (SBASCC).

SBASCC addresses child care in Canada for children who are attending school (i.e., ages 4 to 12). The survey will ask about the different types of learning and child care arrangements used by families, difficulties some families may face when looking for care, as well as reasons for not using child care.

Description: The Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) Cycle 1 oral health public use microdata file (PUMF) is now available. The PUMF consists of 307 variables from the oral health examination completed as part the CHMS, a subset of variables present or recoded from the master file. Data was collected from 2007 to 2009 from approximately 6,000 people in 15 communities randomly selected across Canada and represents 97% of the Canadian population aged 6 to 79 years old. The Oral Health module of the CHMS is a result of a collaborative partnership between three federal departments: Statistics Canada, Health Canada and the Department of National Defence.

This public use microdata file (PUMF) contains data for a wide variety of variables collected from the Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey (CCAHS). The CCAHS collected information on the presence of chronic conditions, self-reported COVID-19 status, testing history, risk for infection, health behaviours, vaccination status and intentions to get vaccinated. COVID-19 antibody seroprevalence laboratory data, and select demographic information are also available. Survey data were collected between November 2020 and April 2021, with the vast majority of collection occurring in January and February 2021.

Statistics Canada is gathering information from families who use child care as well as those who do not. The survey, which addresses child care in Canada for children younger than 6 years old, asks about the different types of early learning and child care arrangements that families use, difficulties some families may face when looking for care, as well as reasons for not using child care. The survey will also cover the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on child care.

The Public-Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the Survey of Household Spending (SHS) provides information on household expenditures as well as selected information on dwelling characteristics and household equipment. The production of this file includes many safeguards to prevent the identification of any one person or household.

PUMFs were produced on an annual basis for SHS 1997 to 2009, before a redesigned survey was introduced with the 2010 reference year. The SHS 2017 PUMF is the first SHS PUMF based on data collected after the 2010 survey redesign.

Due to changes to data collection, processing and estimation methods introduced with the 2010 redesign, users are advised not to compare data from SHS 1997 to 2009 with data from any subsequent years, unless otherwise noted.

The WSPI and the RSPI are indicators of change in the price of wholesaling and retailing services in Canada. This price is defined as a margin, which is the difference between the selling price and the purchase price of products sold. With this tool, data users can explore current and historical trends for various types of wholesaling and retailing services. Key indicators such as the latest quarterly and year-over-year (annual) changes, as well as services price trends are presented in interactive charts, allowing users to compare and analyze services price changes over time for different types of services. The interactive tool also allows users to rank subsectors based on their relative importance (2013 weights) to the overall Canadian wholesale or retail sector . Description: This dashboard shows traffic count data that is obtained from traffic camera imagery using a computer vision-based system developed at the Data Exploration and Integration Lab (DEIL) at Statistics Canada. The system periodically pulls traffic imagery from the Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs) of municipal and provincial traffic camera programs. Vehicle detection was implemented using the open source You Only Look Once version 3 (YOLOv3) object detection model that was trained on the Common Objects in Context (COCO) dataset. The output of the model is used to generates real-time counts of the detected vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles).

Description: The infrastructure economic accounts represents a set of statistical statements that record the economic, social and environmental impacts related to the production and use of infrastructure in Canada and each province and territory. The infrastructure economic accounts are organized using a statistical framework that outlines the concepts, classification systems and methods required to construct the accounts. This statistical framework is consistent with the Canadian system of national accounts, Canadian government finance statistics and Canada's balance of payments. This consistency permits users to analyze the infrastructure related statistical statements in the context of economy wide measures such as investment, gross domestic product (GDP), national income and wealth.

Description: The need for alternative data sources is of growing importance for both supplementing Statistics Canada's data holdings and for nowcasting economic activity. Description: The Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) Data Portal is a collaboration between Statistics Canada and Natural Resources Canada, which administers the ESTMA. The ESTMA helps the Government of Canada deter corruption in the extractive sector by requiring extractive entities that are active in Canada to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, certain types of payments made to governments in Canada and abroad. The goal of the data portal is to increase the accessibility and utility of the payment information collected under the ESTMA by bringing together all available ESTMA data in one online location, and further enriching the payment data with analytical functions that help users to leverage the complete ESTMA dataset.
