This document details the methodology used to incorporate transaction data in the cellular services price index (CSPI). Description: This technical reference guide (updated to include the 2024 datasets) is intended for users of the Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Platform (ELMLP). The data for the products associated with this issue are derived from integrating Postsecondary Student Information System (PSIS) administrative data with other administrative data on earnings. Statistics Canada has derived a series of annual indicators on the labour market outcomes of public postsecondary graduates including median employment income by educational qualification, field of study, age group and gender for Canada, the provinces and the territories combined.

Description: Using data from the 2022 Time Use Survey, this infographic provides highlights from the study “Telework, time use, and well-being: Evidence from the 2022 Time Use Survey.” Data about the differences in time use between teleworkers and non-teleworkers are shown, particularly where time saved on the commute to and from work is reallocated to other activities such as time spent with children. Legalization of cannabis production, sale, and use in Canada on October 17, 2018 serves as the context for the implementation of the largest wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) pilot test conducted to date in North America (covering 8.4 million people) and the first by a national statistical agency. Wastewater samples were collected in five large urban centres across Canada over the period March 2018 to February 2019. In addition to presenting the results by month and by city for certain drugs, this document presents preliminary estimates of total use of cannabis, methamphetamine, and cocaine.

The Fare Basis Survey represents a regular and comprehensive source of fare type-specific data on passengers, revenues, and average air fares. The Fare Basis Survey estimates the average air fare paid and the proportion of passengers for each fare type (first class, business class, economy class, discount and other) for Canadian scheduled air carriers. The data are available by domestic and international sector, by province, and for selected cities.

The Provincial and Territorial Culture Satellite Account (PTCSA) measures the economic importance of culture and sport in terms of output, gross domestic product and employment across Canada for reference year 2010. The PTCSA is a product of both the 2011 Canadian Framework for Culture Statistics (CFCS) and the Canadian System of National Accounts (CSNA). The CFCS provides the guiding principles to define and identify cultural economic activity, whereas the CSNA provides the mechanism and data to derive the estimates. The PTCSA is an extension of the Canadian Culture Satellite Account.

The increased pace of globalization has brought about many changes in both the Canadian and world economies. One important change has been the increased prevalence of global value chains which sees production processes spread out around the globe, across vertically integrated multinationals or via arm’s length trade. This paper focuses on two types of global production arrangements, namely, the case of merchanting and of goods send abroad for processing, with the limiting case of factoryless goods producers. Using the results of the 2009 and 2012 Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy, this report aims to provide an indication of the degree and nature of outsourcing among Canadian firms, with respect to these global production arrangements.

New articles are published electronically each month.

Health Reports had an impact factor of 5.0 for 2022 and a five-year impact factor of 5.6. All articles are indexed in PubMed. Our online catalogue is free and receives more than 700,000 visits per year. External submissions are welcome.

Description: The Indigenous Peoples Survey (IPS) is a national survey on the social and economic conditions of First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit. The objectives of the IPS are to identify the needs of these Indigenous groups and to inform policy and programming activities aimed at improving the well-being of Indigenous peoples. The IPS aims to provide current and relevant data for a variety of stakeholders, including Indigenous organizations, communities, service providers, researchers, governments and the general public.

The 2017 APS represents the fifth cycle of the survey and focuses on participation in the Canadian economy, transferable skills, practical training, use of information technology and Indigenous language attainment of First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit aged 15 years and over.

The 2022 IPS represents the sixth cycle of the survey and focuses on families and children including child care, access to services, family stability, intergenerational trauma and discrimination, sense of belonging, and Indigenous languages and culture, of First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit aged 1 year and over.

Infographics can be used to quickly communicate a message, to simplify the presentation of large amounts of data, to see data patterns and relationships, and to monitor changes in variables over time.
