This table provides Canadians and researchers with provisional data to monitor weekly death trends by selected grouped causes of death in Canada. Given the delays in receiving the data from the provincial and territorial vital statistics offices, these data are considered provisional. Data in this table will be available by province and territory.

Description: The table displays weekly age standardized mortality rates for every province in Canada (excluding territories), by sex, since 2019. The standardization is done using the 2011 Canadian population.

Description: The Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) Data Portal is a collaboration between Statistics Canada and Natural Resources Canada, which administers the ESTMA. The ESTMA helps the Government of Canada deter corruption in the extractive sector by requiring extractive entities that are active in Canada to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, certain types of payments made to governments in Canada and abroad. The goal of the data portal is to increase the accessibility and utility of the payment information collected under the ESTMA by bringing together all available ESTMA data in one online location, and further enriching the payment data with analytical functions that help users to leverage the complete ESTMA dataset. The database has also been designed with mobility in mind to ensure that users and stakeholders have mobile access to ESTMA data.

This product uses low-resolution, digital satellite data to monitor the changing vegetation conditions over the whole agriculture area of Canada and the northern half of the United States.

This product describes the similarities and differences between two sets of United Nations (UN) guidelines for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: the United Nations System of Environmental-Economic Accounts (SEEA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Statistics Canada's Greenhouse Gas Account is compiled based on the SEEA guidelines, while the National GHG Inventory is prepared by Environment and Climate Change Canada in accordance with the UNFCCC.

The 2013 GSS was the third cycle to collect information on social networks and social engagement in Canada. The previous iteration of the survey was Social Networks in 2008 and the first, Social Engagement in 2003. The 2013 GSS collected data from persons aged 15 years and over living in private households in Canada, excluding residents of the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut and full time residents of institutions.

In addition to content previously covered, the 2013 GSS included new questions on pride, appreciation of national symbols and shared values. Data were also collected on the respondents’ main activity, as well as education, religion, income and other socio demographic characteristics.

The Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS) is a national survey on the social and economic conditions of Aboriginal Peoples (First Nations people living off reserve, Métis and Inuit) aged 6 years and over. The 2012 APS represents the fourth cycle of the survey and focuses on issues of education, employment and health. The 2012 APS public use microdata file (PUMF) package has been designed to enable users to access and manipulate survey microdata at the national level. The package includes a microdata file; SAS, SPSS and Stata syntax; and a users’ guide. The users’ guide provides general information on the survey as well as guidelines for releasing estimates calculated using the PUMF.

GDP by industry at basic prices is a measure of the economic production of Canada’s provinces and territories. The values in the visualization tool are presented as percent change in chained (2017) dollars and by contributions to the percentage change, by selected industries. Description: Using data from the Housing Economic Account, this data visualization tool analyzes the flows and stock of residential housing in value, as well as the stock of housing in units. Residential housing flows and stock can be visualized in current and real dollars, by assets (new construction, renovation and transfer cost) and by provinces and territories. In addition, housing flows and stocks can be viewed by sector of activity and type of housing, and the economic impact analysis and social transfers in kind from the public sector are reported.
