Description: This study presents an analysis of residential properties and homeowners located in areas at high hazard of flooding, using data from the Canadian Housing Statistics Program and Public Safety Canada. The article provides data on characteristics of these properties such as year of construction, investment status, and assessment value and compares it to properties outside high flood hazard areas in the same census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations. The study also provides a more detailed analysis of four regions that have significant residential property exposure to flood hazard.

Description: Departmental Results Reports (DRRs) are part of the Estimates family of documents. Estimates documents support appropriation acts, which specify the amounts and broad purposes for which funds can be spent by the government. The Estimates document family has three parts.

Part I (Government Expenditure Plan) provides an overview of federal spending.
