This product is part of the Dimension Series which provides an in-depth analysis of census data. More than 150 tables represent a variety of special interest subjects linking a number of Census variables. Starting with the Census of Population release on age and sex, and on subsequent release dates, profile component data will be available at the Canada, province and territory, economic region, census division and census subdivision levels, at the census metropolitan area, census agglomeration, population centre and census tract levels, at the designated places level, at the federal electoral district (based on the 2013 Representation Order) level, and at the dissemination areas and aggregate dissemination areas levels.

Profile component data for all other standard geographic areas, including dissolved census subdivisions, and forward sortation areas, will be available after the Census of Population release dates.

Data for families may be requested by age group of family members, number and age of children, average family size, total family income range by age or by number of children, sources of family income, economic dependency, low income families, after-tax income, single-earner and dual-earner families and wife's contribution to total husband-wife employment income. Statistics on persons not in census families provide details on age group, income group and sources of income. The statistics are derived primarily from the annual tax file provided by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Data for couple families, lone-parent families and persons not in census families can be requested beginning in 1990. The latest data (2019) can be requested for Canada, provinces and territories, federal electoral districts, economic regions, census divisions, census metropolitan areas, census agglomerations, census tracts and certain postal geographies.

The Postal Code^OM Conversion File Plus (PCCF+) is a SAS© control program and set of associated datasets derived from the Postal Code^OM Conversion File (PCCF), a Postal Code^OM population weight file, the Geographic Attribute File, Health Region boundary files, and other supplementary data. PCCF+ automatically assigns a range of Statistics Canada’s standard geographic areas and other geographic identifiers based on Postal Codes^OM. The PCCF+ differs from the PCCF in that it uses population-weighted random allocation for Postal Codes^OM that link to more than one geographic area.
