- Surveys and statistical programs – Documentation: 5162Description: The objectives of the Nunavut Housing Needs Survey are to: collect detailed data on the housing needs of Nunavummiut, quantify and identify the factors related to the housing shortage in Nunavut, provide communities with information on housing conditions within their communities, and assist the Government of Nunavut in planning and providing for the housing needs of Nunavummiut.
- Surveys and statistical programs – Documentation: 5167Description: While Statistics Canada recognizes the importance of having good quality data for First Nations communities that can be used for decision making and program planning, there is currently very little data (aside from Census data) about the people living on First Nations communities across Canada. This pilot survey is an important step aimed at determining the best methods for collecting data in these communities. It will also provide an opportunity to learn aspects of survey taking that may be unique in First Nations communities, such as communications with community leaders and respondents.
- Surveys and statistical programs – Documentation: 5178Description: Complementing the data collected by the census, the National Household Survey (NHS) is designed to provide information about people in Canada by their demographic, social and economic characteristics. In October 2014, Statistics Canada will be conducting a voluntary test in selected locations to evaluate the processes, procedures and systems that will be used for the 2016 Census Program. This ensures that quality data are available in 2016 to support a wide variety of programs.
