    The Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics Hub focuses on disaggregated data by gender and other identities to support evidence-based policy development and decision making. The hub is a centralized platform that enables users to easily access and analyze a wealth of statistical information, relevant to the evaluation of programs, policies and initiatives from a gender, diversity and inclusion perspective. The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate how to access the hub and to provide a description of the hub's functionalities. This presentation will also touch on the history of the hub, future development plans for the hub, and other Statistics Canada's hubs on diverse populations.

    Using data from the Canadian Housing Survey, this project aimed to construct a measure of social inclusion, using indicators identified by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), to report a social inclusion score for each geographic stratum separately for dwellings that are and are not in social and affordable housing. This project also sought to examine associations between social inclusion and a set of economic, social and health variables.

    Description:

    This study examines the settlement patterns of the immigrant population as well as certain social integration components. It starts by outlining recent trends in the settlement patterns of the immigrant population in Canadian census metropolitan areas, namely Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver. Based on data from the 2013 General Social Survey on Social Identity, it then looks at residence characteristics, such as type of municipality and concentration of immigrant population, according to four social integration components: personal network characteristics, relationships with neighbours, social participation and involvement in community activities, and sense of belonging.
