    Description: Previous research has found variability in cancer incidence and cancer-related outcomes according to place of residence. This study examined geographic variability in the incidence and mortality of breast cancer among females in Canada, using data from the 2021 Canadian Cancer Registry (breast cancer incidence) and the Canadian Vital Statistics – Death database (breast cancer mortality). Age-standardized incidence rates (ASIRs) and age-standardized mortality rates (ASMRs) per 100,000 females per year and their rate ratios were calculated, as well as age group-specific and age-standardized stage-specific incidence rates, and examined across provinces and territories, community sizes, and peer groups (i.e., clusters of health regions with similar socioeconomic and demographic characteristics).

    Description: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Canada. Breast density substantially influences breast cancer risk and mammography performance. However, OncoSim-Breast, a Canadian microsimulation model representing breast cancer control, including cancer onset, screening, and survival, has not previously explicitly accounted for breast density. This study describes the incorporation of density-specific parameters—prevalence, relative risk of breast cancer, and digital mammography performance (sensitivity and specificity)—using data from five Canadian provinces, into the OncoSim-Breast model. Calibration experiments and internal validations were conducted to ensure the updated OncoSim-Breast model aligned with observed data from the Canadian Cancer Registry.

    Description: Canada has experienced relatively low productivity growth in the construction sector over the last several decades. This study examines the evolution of labour productivity in residential construction from 2001 to 2023 by using firm-level data from the National Accounts Longitudinal Microdata File. In addition to providing statistics on labour productivity growth, the study decomposes the growth in labour productivity by firm size (by number of employees), and province, showing which types of firms contribute to aggregate growth.     Description: Accurate and ongoing assessments of physical activity (PA) and sedentary time (SED) are needed to support public health surveillance, evaluate interventions, and advance the understanding of how movement behaviours relate to health. After six cycles of data collection (2007 to 2019) using the Actical (AC) accelerometer, the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) transitioned to the ActiGraph wGT3X-BT (AG). The AC and AG accelerometers differ technically and mechanically in how they measure movement behaviour outcomes such as SED, light PA, moderate-to-vigorous PA, and step counts. This study compares AC and AG accelerometer estimates of these movement behaviour outcomes, to determine whether these data are comparable across CHMS cycles.

How do I use the filters and the search box?

  • You can initiate a search by entering keywords or selecting filters (e.g., under Subject, Geography, etc.) on the left side of the page.

  • Filters can be used together or in any combination. Each time you select a filter, the results on the page are updated.

  • To start a new search, click on the Clear all button above the search box or deselect each filter.

  • Specified keywords and filters appear above the search box. You can deselect any or all the tags to refine or clear your search.

How do I refine my search?

  • You can enter keywords in the search box. It is not necessary to use “+” or “, “ or “AND”.

  • You can delete some or all of the keywords from your search string.

  • Quotes around keywords limit the search to a specific phrase.

    • For example, “labour force survey” will limit results to products containing this phrase.

  • Use “or” between keywords to obtain results that contain one or more search terms.

    • For example, labour or­ force or survey will limit results to products containing any or all of these words.

How does the search work?

  • This search looks for results that have your query term in the title, description, subject, geography, product number or other information about the product.

    • For example, when searching the term ‘Diseases’, all results with the word ‘Diseases’ in the title, description or tagged the subject appear.
