This study estimates the prevalence of loneliness among older Canadians in a nationally representative sample of 38,941 Canadians aged 65 and older, with particular focus on evaluating differences in loneliness across immigrant subgroups.

Smoking histories for each birth cohort included age at smoking initiation and cessation, which was used to construct smoking prevalence for each calendar year from 1971 to 2041. A secondary objective was to characterize smoking history by socioeconomic status.
