Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, June 2026
Released: 2026-07-24
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales edged down 0.1% in June. The largest decrease was in the petroleum and coal product subsector. Excluding the petroleum and coal product subsector, total manufacturing sales rose 2.2% in June.
This estimate was calculated based on a weighted response rate of 72.7%. The average final response rate for the survey over the previous 12 months has been 92.4%. As Statistics Canada continues to collect data for the June reference month, this advance indicator is subject to a higher revision rate than our regular monthly release.
Note to readers
The percentage change is calculated using seasonally adjusted data in current dollars.
This advance estimate is a special product published to provide Canadians with timely information on the manufacturing sector. The official estimate of manufacturing sales for the month of June, which will be based on a more complete set of survey and administrative data, is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026.
