Statistics Canada provides data in many forms…

These statistics have been compiled by Statistics Canada, the national statistical agency. They represent a small cross-section of the agency’s products, but give a good indication of the wealth of Canadian statistical information that is available. You are invited to visit www.statcan.gc.ca to browse the following:

  • The Daily offers access to newly released data and analysis, schedules of major releases and announcements of new products and services.
  • Summary tables allow access to data in easy-to-read tables on many aspects of Canada’s economy, people and government.
  • The Census provides a statistical portrait of Canada and its people every five years. The next Census will be on May 10, 2011.
  • Community Profiles present key community-level indicators from the census.
  • Learning Resources are teaching materials based on Statistics Canada data.
  • Canada Year Book online features the Canada Year Book Historical Collection, covering the first century of Canadian history following Confederation in 1867 through to 1967.

Note of appreciation

Canada owes the success of its statistical system to a long-standing partnership between Statistics Canada, the citizens of Canada, its businesses, governments and other institutions. Accurate and timely statistical information could not be produced without their continued co-operation and goodwill.

Standards of service to the public

Statistics Canada is committed to serving its clients in a prompt, reliable and courteous manner. To this end, the Agency has developed standards of service which its employees observe in serving its clients.
