  1. As of October 1, 2014, the population of Canada was estimated at 35,675,800, up 135,400 from July 1, 2014. This represents a growth of 0.4%, similar to third-quarter growth rate recorded of last year.
  2. Net international migration accounted for more than two-thirds (69.1%) of the country’s population growth in the third quarter of 2014.
  3. Population growth was above the national average (+0.4%) in Yukon (+0.7%), Alberta (+0.6%) and British Columbia (+0.6%) in the third quarter of 2014.
