The study used data from the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey to identify those offences which account for differences between rates of crime reported by police serving majority Indigenous populations when compared with police serving predominantly non-Indigenous populations. In addition, the article examines the characteristics of criminal incidents in these communities and presents information on the socioeconomic conditions of the populations served by these police services.
