Most research indicates that women continue to assume the majority of housework and child care. However, there is an indication that women’s and men’s hours spent performing household labour have converged over time. Using the 2011, 2016 and 2017 waves of the General Social Survey, this study examines opposite-sex couples’ perceptions of the division of unpaid work in their household and how these perceptions vary across different sociodemographic groups.
