This report contains data from the GST/HST New Housing Rebate File (1996-2000) including: average fair market value; average rebate; total value of rebates; and total value of housing sales. Annual breakdowns are available by province, Census Metropolitan Areas/Census Agglomerations (CMA/CA), and component Census Subdivisions (CSDs) of each CMA/CA.

Such human activities produce large quantities of substances that are released in the air, where over time they can overload natural processes and eventually reach harmful levels. The result is poor air quality in urban and rural areas around the world.

This article addresses the following questions: What is the condition of our outdoor and indoor air? What effects does air quality have on our health and our environment? And what are governments and businesses doing to address air quality concerns?

This paper analyses the impacts of the 1981-82 and 1990-92 recessions on individual services industries. Quarterly changes in real GDP are analysed for each major services industry, and impacts on employment are also examined. The results show that some services industries are more susceptible than others to recessionary downturns in the economy.

Statistics Canada's annual Economic Conference provides a forum for the exchange of empirical research among business, government, research and labour communities. It can be used to produce small-scale thematic maps of statistical data. A number of changes related to Licenses and Registration, Farm Inventories, Land Transfer Taxes, Spectrum Charges and Trade have been incorporated into the Provincial Economic Accounts. These changes have been incorporated into the affected series back to 1981 and are consistent with those changes which have been incorporated in the National Income and Expenditure Accounts since May 31, 2002.
