Even though 43% of firms made purchases online, it appears that the majority of firms are still having difficulties adapting their business to the online environment or are simply choosing not to do so. In order for Canadian electronic commerce to continue its growth, it is important to identify the barriers and explore what firm characteristics, such as size and sector, may influence these barriers.
