Hours worked and labour productivity in the provinces and the territories, 2011 to 2024 (updated data) and 2025 (preliminary)

Preliminary data on hours worked and labour productivity in the provinces and territories for 2025 are now available. This release is aligned with the data on gross domestic product (GDP) by industry for the provinces and territories released on May 1, 2026.
This release also incorporates revised data for the period from 2011 to 2024. The revisions are consistent with updates to the GDP by industry program and the implementation of the North American Industry Classification System, released on November 5, 2025.
Note to readers
Revised estimates of labour productivity by province and territory for 1997 to 2010 will be available with the next release in February 2027.
The term productivity in this release refers to labour productivity and is measured as real gross domestic product per hour worked.
