Chicken production, 2024
Released: 2025-02-10
Chicken production edges up in 2024
Chicken production edged up 0.1% from a year earlier to 1.4 million tonnes in 2024.
Chicken production rose at the fastest pace in Alberta (+2.1%), with the Atlantic region (+0.7%), British Columbia (+0.6%) and Ontario (+0.5%) also reporting notable increases.
Production fell in Saskatchewan (-1.9%), Quebec (-1.1%) and Manitoba (-0.9%).
Despite these regional variations, national production remained relatively stable, likely driven by consistent demand for chicken across the country.
