Today, Statistics Canada is releasing the report "A snapshot: Status First Nations people in Canada," produced in collaboration with the Assembly of First Nations. This report includes a variety of social and economic statistics for Status First Nations people living on and off reserve, as well as comparisons with the non-Indigenous population.
Data charts covering the population, housing, justice, foster care, the labour force, income, education and language are largely based on the results of the 2006 and 2016 censuses of population.
