An updated version of the National Road Network (NRN) is now available.
The NRN is a database that contains trusted and quality geospatial data for all of Canada. It provides a digital representation of Canada's road network and forms a foundational layer of the GeoBase initiative.
GeoBase is a federal, provincial and territorial government initiative that is overseen by the Canadian Council on Geomatics. This initiative ensures that Canadians can access up-to-date, quality geospatial information at no cost and for unrestricted use.
The NRN is released on an annual basis, as provincial and territorial datasets become available.
Statistics Canada assumed stewardship of the NRN in 2018, and with this release, updated 2018 data on the road network in Saskatchewan are available through the Canada Open Data Portal.
