The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 1.6% in January following a 0.9% gain in December. The index has increased in each of the last four months.
The couriers component was up 1.1%, while the local messengers and local delivery component increased 4.1%.
Year-over-year change
The CMSPI rose 7.3% in January compared with the same month a year earlier. Both the couriers (+7.4%) and the local delivery (+6.9%) components increased.

The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index is a monthly index that measures the price changes for courier and messenger services provided by long- and short-distance delivery companies to Canadian-based business clients.
Data are available at the Canada level only.
With each release, data for the previous six months may have been revised. The index is not seasonally adjusted.
