There were 452,787 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 91 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in April compared with 490,047 movements in April 2016.
Both itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) and local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) decreased in April on a year-over-year basis. Itinerant movements were down 5.4% to 313,837 while local movements decreased 12.2% to 138,950.
