Note to readers
Beginning with the June 2026 reference period, potato area and production data are collected twice a year through the June and November Field Crop Survey. For the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and Alberta, administrative data will continue to be used for survey replacement. Potato area and production estimates will still be published three times a year.
The Census of Agriculture is currently underway.
Every five years, farm operators across Canada complete the Census of Agriculture.
Insights from the 2026 Census will provide crucial information about the agriculture sector in Canada to help make business decisions.
