Population projections for Census divisions and subdivisions, 2024 to 2049

Today, Statistics Canada is releasing new population projections by census divisions and census subdivisions. Commissioned by the Canadian Infrastructure Council to inform Canada's National Infrastructure Assessment Report 1, these projections provide impartial, evidence-based insights to all orders of government, infrastructure owners, operators and investors to improve infrastructure planning and decision-making across Canada.

The table "Projected population for census divisions and census subdivisions, 2021 boundaries, by projection scenario, age and gender, as of July 1" contains projections that are consistent with those previously published at provincial and territorial levels. Details of the methods are provided in the publication "Population Projections for Census Divisions and Subdivisions, 2024 to 2049: Technical Report."
