Released: 2025-11-07
Estimates of the number of census families and households for Canada, the provinces and the territories on July 1, 2025, are now available. The estimates of the number of census families are broken down by family structure (couple or one-parent family). The estimates of the number of households are broken down by size. Updated estimates on July 1 for the years 2022 to 2024 are also available.
Note to readers
The estimates released today are based on the 2021 Census of Population adjusted for census net undercoverage, the T1 Family File, and the postcensal demographic estimates. These estimates are not to be confused with the 2021 Census counts of families and households, which were released on July 13, 2022.
