Pilot physical flow account for plastic material, projected estimates for 2019 and 2020

The complete pilot physical flow account for plastic material comprises 17 variables that describe the production and fate of plastic in products in the Canadian economy. Detailed data for product categories, geographies, and resin types for reference years 2012 to 2018 can be found in tables 38-10-0150-01, 38-10-0150-02, and 38-10-0151-01, respectively.

This release provides preliminary projected estimates for reference years 2019 and 2020. Due to quality limitations as a result of unavailable data sources, only the national aggregate for Total Discarded Plastic is being published. These estimates are expected to be finalized in the future, once survey data are able to replace projections for key sources. More variables may be released at that time.
