The public use microdata file for the 2019 Visitor Travel Survey (VTS) is now available upon request.
This public use microdata file contains data for a wide variety of variables collected from the 2019 VTS that cover the characteristics of US residents and residents of overseas countries travelling in Canada: travel expenditures, length of stay, type of transportation, purpose of trip, accommodation used, places visited, and expenditures by category.
Note to readers
The Visitor Travel Survey (VTS) provides statistics on the activities of US residents and residents of overseas countries related to their travel in Canada. It measures the volume and characteristics of these travellers and their travel spending.
A user guide and data dictionary are also available with the VTS public use microdata file (PUMF).
PUMFs contain the individual responses of survey respondents, which have been modified to ensure the anonymity of respondents.
