The Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) Indoor Air Sampler file for Cycle 4 (2014 to 2015) is now available with new data. This file now includes additional data on chemicals used in the home.

The CHMS Biobank metals and trace element file is now available. This data was generated from the biobank project "Canadian Biomonitoring Data, Reference Ranges and Association with Health Outcomes of Selected CMP-3 Priority Metals and Trace Elements." Blood samples used for this project were collected during Cycle 2 of the CHMS (2009 to 2011).

The CHMS Cycles 1 to 5 (2007 to 2017) relationship files are now available. The files include information identifying the relationship between two respondents in the same household.

These relationship files were used in a new study, released today in Health Reports, which examined associations of sedentary behaviour and physical activity between parents and their children aged 3 to 5 years. The study found that parental screen time, sedentary time, light-intensity physical activity (LPA) and moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) were associated with screen time, sedentary time, LPA, and MVPA in Canadian children aged 3 to 5 years. These associations did not differ for mothers versus fathers or sons versus daughters.
