The paper "Measuring the sharing economy in the Canadian Macroeconomic Accounts" is now available.
This paper explores whether and how certain sharing economy activities such as ride services and accommodation services that use digital platforms are captured (or not) in Canada's system of macroeconomic accounts and key indicators like gross domestic product, household consumption and imports and exports of services.
