A case is one or more charges against an accused person or company that were processed by the courts at the same time and received a final disposition. 3. Refers to the mid-point in the number of days taken to complete a case, from first to last court appearance. 4. Includes, for example, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, child pornography, luring a child via a computer and sexual exploitation. 5. Includes, for example, assault with a weapon (level 2) and aggravated assault (level 3). 6. Includes, for example, theft over and under $5,000 as well as taking a motor vehicle without consent. 7. Includes drug trafficking, production, importing and exporting. Note: In total, data represent approximately 95% of the national adult criminal court caseload. Excludes information from superior courts in Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well as municipal courts in Quebec due to the unavailability of data.
