Figure 2 shows four maps of the cities of Montreal, Calgary, Hamilton and Charlottetown.

The Active-transportation-to-work rates of each city are graded by active living environment clusters. The cluster groups were ordered according to the favourability of the active living environment: DAs in Group 1 represent the least favourable active living environments and those in Group 5 represent the most favourable active living environments in Canada.

Montreal, Calgary and Hamilton have the most favourable active living environments (group 5) in their downtown areas, with decreasing active living environments further from the centre. Charlottetown has a moderate active living environment (group 3) in its downtown area, with decreasing active living environments further from the centre.
