How to use this application
Navigation
This interactive tool presents its pages in a hierarchical manner. On the starting home page is presented four top-level indicators each with a chart showing recent activity. Along the right-hand side are buttons that navigate to six major domains.
Each major domain offers a choice of selected variables and displays charts for the selected variable and along the right hand side are buttons that navigate to a sub-domain or to a series detail page.
Sub-domain pages offer a choice of selected variables with charts along with a button to a series detail page. Series detail pages offer a choice of almost every variable pertinent to its parent domain.
All pages other than the home page have a Back button for returning one level back up the hierarchy and a Home button for returning to the starting home page.
How to use
On the starting home page, use the buttons on the right to navigate to a major domain page. On a major domain page, use the buttons on the right to navigate to a sub-domain page or series detail page.
On major domain, sub-domain, and series detail pages, use the first drop-down menu to select a variable or a specific reference period, accordingly. Use any other drop-down menus to select parameters such as prices, trade directions, or province or territory where applicable.
On series detail pages, where available, use the slider along the bottom to select the years to display in the chart. Although data for the last twenty years may be available, the charts have limited capacity and will display the lesser of the range selected on the slider or 40 (52 on some charts) reference periods.
On any page other than the home page, use the Back button to return one level back up the hierarchy or use the Home button to return to the starting home page.
