- Air passenger traffic at Canadian airports increased 3.7% in 2011. The total number of enplaned and deplaned passengers in Canada was 113.1 million. The 10-year trend for air passenger traffic in Canada is shown in Chart 1.
- Passenger traffic in all sectors (domestic, transborder and other international) increased in 2011.
- Cargo tonnages loaded and unloaded at Canadian airports declined 0.8% in 2011.
- Canadian airports experienced an increase in the number of scheduled and major charter flights arriving and departing; flights were up 2.8% in 2011.
