This infographic is based on responses to the questions: "How concerned are you about the risk of a weather-related emergency or natural disaster affecting your household?" and "In the past 12 months, have you [or has someone in your household] taken steps to prepare in the event of a weather-related emergency or natural disaster affecting your household?" which were included in wave 7 of the Canadian Social Survey collected from October to December 2022. Results for level of concern and steps taken are shown for the ten provinces in Canada as well as for households able to cover an unexpected $500 expense or not.Release date: 2023-06-01

It shows that loneliness is prevalent across Canada and that the share of people in Canada who reported high levels of loneliness varies based on age group, gender and marital status. It also shows that those who are lonely report worse mental health and lower life satisfaction. Loneliness is an indicator in Canada's Quality of Life Framework.
