Description: Annual information is available on Canadians who filed a personal tax return in the reference year. Data provided include the number of taxfilers, the average age of taxfilers, their median total income, their median employment income and the percentage of taxfilers by age group and income group.

Data for some geographic areas are available since 1990. The latest data (2022) can be requested for selected levels of postal and census geographies. The statistics are derived from a preliminary version of the annual taxfile provided by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Notes: Data for census metropolitan areas are available since 1990. Data for census divisions are available since 1995 and data for federal electoral districts, since 1997.
