Note(s):
Growth of built-up and artificial surfaces is calculated by creating a two kilometre buffer around the 2010 contiguously settled area boundary and aggregating areas within this buffer that were classified as built-up in 2020 but not in 2010. Built-up and artificial surfaces are defined as areas classified as settlement, high reflectance settlement, settlement forest, roads, vegetated settlement or very high reflectance settlement in Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Semi-decadal Land Use Time Series.
