Building permit values in Canada down 1.5% compared to September 2019. Newfoundland and Labrador down 19.5%, Prince Edward Island up 8.7%, Nova Scotia up 5.3%, New Brunswick down 7.5%, Quebec up 12.3%, Ontario down 3.4%, Manitoba up 74.3%, Saskatchewan up 22.0%, Alberta down 6.6%, British Columbia down 21.2%, Yukon up 204.2%, Northwest Territories up 85.3%, Nunavut down 88.4%.

Residential: a month-over month decrease of 3.2%
Non residential: a month-over-month increase of 1.1%
Single family dwellings: total value was $2,126 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 2.9% or $63.3 million.
Multi-family dwellings: total value was $2,820 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 3.4% or $98.7 million.
Industrial: total value was $604 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 1.1% or $6.5 million.
Commercial: total value was $1,961 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 5.3% or $108.9 million.
Institutional: total value was $765 million, representing a month-over-month increase of 24.9% or $152.6 million.
