Prices received by farmers in January for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available.

The January grain corn price for Ontario was $239.08 per tonne, up 7.2% from December, and up 20.0% from January 2011 when the price was $199.19.

The January feeder cattle price for Alberta was $116.62 per hundredweight, up 9.2% from December and up 31.3% from January 2011 when the price was $88.84.

Note: Farm commodity prices are now available free of charge on CANSIM. Prices for over 35 commodities are available by province, some series going back 20 years.
