December 2011 (Previous release)

Prices received by farmers in December for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available.

The December dry pea price for Saskatchewan was $317.00 per tonne, down 1.6% from November, but up 40.9% from December 2010 when the price was $225.00.

The Quebec hog price in December was $76.61 per hundredweight, down 4.5% from November, but up 24.4% from December 2010 when the price was $61.57.

Note: Farm commodity prices are now available on CANSIM. Prices for over 35 commodities are available by province, some series going back 20 years.
