October 2008 online edition
The October 2008 online edition of Perspectives on Labour and Income, released today, features two articles.
"Skilled trades employment" examines the need for skilled tradespersons and employment trends in selected trades over the past 20 years, along with the socioeconomic traits of the workers and the characteristics of their jobs.
"Interprovincial mobility and earnings" looks at interprovincial migration as a key component of demographic change in Canada, including its effects on the performance and efficiency of labour markets and productivity, and the better earnings growth for migrants than non-migrants. Key factors affecting the probability of migration are identified through regression analysis.
