Consumer Price Index, September 2008
Consumer prices rose 3.4% in the 12 months to September, due largely to higher energy and food prices. This was a slightly slower pace than August's 3.5% increase, when the pace of consumer price growth was the highest since March 2003. The seasonally-adjusted monthly CPI rose 0.2% from August to September.
