Homicides, 2003
The national homicide rate dropped 7% in 2003. The rate of 1.73 victims per 100,000 people was the lowest in over three decades. The homicide rate has generally been declining since the mid-1970s.

Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, August 2004
Manufacturers' prices edged up 0.1% in August compared with a 0.3% drop in July. Prices rose 4.9% on a 12-month basis, down from the 5.2% increase registered in July. Prices of raw materials increased 3.3% from July and were 20.9% higher than August 2003.
