Learning online: Factors associated with use of the Internet for education purposes
During 2005, an estimated 6.4 million adult Canadians used the Internet at home for education, training or school work. About two-thirds of those users were searching for information for school assignments. The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP), used for classifying instructional programs according to field of study, is currently being revised. The revised CIP will be introduced for Census 2011. At this time, Statistics Canada is soliciting input from data producers and data users to ensure their needs continue to be met by the CIP.
