Concluding Remarks

The CEA represent Statistics Canada’s first experimental estimates of the cannabis industry and the contribution of cannabis to the Canadian economy. According to these estimates, which rely heavily on assumptions, models and indirect estimation techniques, the cannabis industry is sizable and contributes significantly to the Canadian economy. As more information becomes available, these estimates will be updated, providing a more accurate reading on the size and scope of cannabis production and consumption and its importance to the Canadian economy.
